Topographic Maps
Topographic maps are produced by the USGS and cover the entire United States. Originally intended for planning and executing government projects, they are also used by outdoor enthusiasts, historians, and environmentalists. The Special Collections has topographic maps covering Utah and sections of the surrounding states. These can be searched using the on-line card catalog UNIS. The map specialist also has other tools for finding maps if you are unable to find anything in the catalog.
We are in the process of cataloguing a large number of topographic maps that will significantly increase the size of the collection.
