James Edward Talmage was a geology professor at the University of Deseret and later served as president of the same institution, now known as the University of Utah. He was also a field scientist, a writer, a researcher, and a collector. This small collection consists of portraits of James E. Talmage and his family. The photographs are of various sizes ranging from 8x10 to 3x5. The originals are in excellent condition. A detailed inventory of the photograph is available in Photograph Register P0703.
