Indians of North America Collection (Ms 425)
The Indians of North America Collection (1882-1981) holds a variety of documents
relating to Native Americans. Included is an announcement from the University of
Colorado of the establishment of the Siouan Languages Archive and a Navajo
Bibliography (August 1973); correspondence (1981) between Sally Big Pond from
Hotevilla, Arizona, and David Monongye, a religious leader of Hotevilla, in which they
debate the placement of a water line through their village; and miscellaneous
documents from the Office of Indian Affairs, including "Articles of Agreement" (1882),
"Issues to Indians" (no date), and invoices (1884) of materials issued to the Ouray
Indians from various parts of the United States. A register is available.
