Smith-Livermore Family History (Ms 27)

University of Utah Marriott Library, Manuscripts Division

The Smith-Livermore Family History opens with a pictorial diagram of Coggeshalll, Essex, England, native home of this family group, converts to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints who settled in northern Utah. A description of the country follows. The journal then provides biographical information and genealogical data. Despite the brevity of the life sketches, some interesting aspects of personality and of sacrifices made in the cause of religion are graphically written. A number of leading Mormon elders are mentioned (Charles Penrose and Francis M. Lyman) as they presided over various mission assignments in England. A register is available.
