The Eliza Maria Partidge Smith Lyman Journal (1820-1885) is an
unusual record of a woman's day-by-day hardship and heartbreak while
crossing the plains as a young wife and mother. It discusses her two
polygamous marriages: first, as one of the wives of Joseph Smith, and
second as a wife of Amasa Lyman, member of the Council of Twelve Apostles.
