The John Loveless Autobiography (1859) begins with his birth in 1807 and tells of his life in the Mormon Church during the years 1831 to 1855. It recounts the expulsion of the Mormons from Jackson and Caldwell Counties, Missouri; his departure from Nauvoo; his trek west; and his arrival in Salt Lake City in 1851. Loveless joined the Mormon Church in 1831 and eventually settled in Provo, Utah, at the suggestion of Brigham Young. In 1853, he moved to West Jordan in Salt Lake County, after which he moved to Payson. A register is available.
