The Jim Shane Papers (1948-1985)
contains photocopied news clippings and promotional material regarding the
town of Alta, Utah. Included are photocopies of news photos and articles
regarding skiing activities in Alta, as well as human interest news stories
on early University of Utah ski instructors, the opening of the Alta post
office, the town's incorporation, the expansion of the Gold Miner's Daughter
Lodge, and the 1985 propane explosion at that lodge. Photographs associated
with this collection are housed in the Multimedia Archives (P0416).
