EDUCATOR'S
WORKSHOP: SPECIALIZED SESSION
Making
Movable Books in the Classroom
July
13th & 14th,
Friday & Saturday, 9:00-5:00
Unlock student’s verbal and visual ideas and meet
classroom goals. Develop a solid foundation in construction
methods and produce a range of movable books. Combine
skills to create books that have pull-outs, 90°
and 190° pop-up units, lift-the-flap pages, removable
parts, and more. Discussion centers on books as a means
of communication and the value of bookmaking to teachers.
Paul
Johnson is recognized internationally as a paper and
book artist as well as for his pioneering work in developing
literacy through book arts. Author of over fifteen titles,
he directed the Book Art Project for Manchester Metropolitan
University in the United Kingdom from 1986 to 1997.
His books are held in private collections and have been
exhibited internationally.

Workshop fee is underwritten for educators.

Due to extraordinary interest in the educators’
workshops, we limit each educator’s participation
to one
workshop per year. We also limit participation in the
specialized session to every other year.
