Fundamentals
of Bookbinding
January
9th through April 24th,
Tuesdays, 4:10-8:00
Explore basic elements of bookbinding, as well as the
design and construction
of traditional books. Produce and take away a variety
of binding models. Build
on a foundation of knowledge to create an individually-designed
bookwork.
Chris McAfee received a BFA in printmaking from Brigham
Young University,
where he was introduced to bookbinding. In 1995, he
received an MFA in
bookbinding from the University of Alabama. He has since
worked as a
conservator of books, documents, and photographs for
Brigham Young
University and the Latter-day Saints Church Archives.
