ARC (Automated Retrieval Center)
What is the ARC?
The Automated Retrieval Center or "ARC" is a large storage facility where older and less used materials are stored in order to make room for newer materials and expanding services.
Robots are used to retrieve and reshelve materials stored in the ARC.
How do I know if an item is in the ARC?
In the library catalog, the Collection will be listed as, "ARC Available by Request"
How do I request an item from the ARC?
Find the item you want in the library catalog and click the "Request" button next to the title. You will see a screen asking, "Do you wish to place an Automated Retrieval request on the item?" Click, "Yes." You will then be asked to confirm the retrieval of your item by clicking "Request."
After your request has been processed you will be informed when and where to pick up your item.
Note: For subscriptions, periodicals and bound journals click the HOLDINGS link in the left-hand column or the SHOW ALL ITEMS link located under the Subscription Summary in order to request the specific volume(s) you need."
During regular library hours ARC materials will be available for pickup within 15 minutes.
