NOTE:
Elementary & Secondary Textbooks
The bulk of
the Curriculum Library's holdings are comprised of textbooks that are
sent to us on a depository arrangement. These items have been approved
by the Utah State Textbook Commission. They include K-12 materials primarily,
however a few college texts are included as well.
In the Curriculum
Library, the materials are organized by various disciplines with the Elementary
texts arranged before the Secondary texts. For example, in the bookshelves
related to Language Arts: Spelling, Writing and Phonics come before English
Literature. Elementary Math texts would come before Algebra, Geometry
and Calculus. The Curriculum Library shelves have very distinctive signs
to help you find the materials you need by subject.
When the materials
are finished being cataloged there will be three distinct locations that
correspond to the location codes in the online catalog: CURE - Curriculum
Elementary texts; CURS - Curriculum Secondary texts and CURR - Professional
literature for teachers. You will find these designations listed in the
online catalog (UNIS) but, for the 1999-2000 school year, this will probably
only apply to the cataloged Language Arts section.
