Retrieval
Services
Materials will be retrieved from the stacks or other areas of the library
upon request at any other service point. Material in storage facilities
can be retrieved by submitting a request via the web form at: http://www.lib.utah.edu/circ/
Please specify that the request is for storage retrieval. If the service
point is busy and the assistance you need will take some time, a library
member may ask you to return at a less busy hour. To avoid this inconvenience
to yourself, call ahead to make an appointment with a library staff member.
581-8203.
If you call or email ahead with the appropriate call numbers
of the information you need they will be waiting for you when you come
in. (Note that email may not be checked at the weekends or evenings.)
Renewal
If you wish to keep books beyond the due date, please renew the loan to
avoid lost item charges. Renewal does not require one to bring the items
in person. These other five methods are available:
*Renewals by phone are accepted. 581-8203 or 581-8204
*Return a completed renewal form by mail or fax (585-3464)

specifically requesting renewal.
*Request renewal via E-mail to RENEWAL@library.utah.edu.
In the request include your name, Library ID number (bar code), and the
call number and ID (bar code) number from each item you wish to renew.

Our Goal
The Goal of the University of Utah Libraries is to provide equal access
to information for all students, staff, faculty, and guests. To this end
the Marriott Library offers a number of services and facilities that can
accommodate research activities for those with disabilities.
Today's disabled user may have an obvious
physical disability or a learning disability that is not as easily discernable.
As part of the Marriott Library's goal to empower its patrons and provide
them with effective service we encourage users to identify themselves
and their needs. It is our goal to provide an environment in which users
can safely request and receive services without prejudice.
Circulation services recognizes that specialized
help is sometimes required for individual patrons and they will attempt
to provide the necessary assistance to the fullest extent possible. Service
accommodations during primary service hours include retrieval of certain
materials, check-in/checkout or renewal of materials, and photocopy assistance.
Upon request, library staff in all units will assist with the retrieval
of books and with the use of electronic and other bibliographic resources.
Time needed for retrieval will vary depending on staff availability. To
ensure staff availability, advance notice may be required for some services.
