Special Collections Reading and Research Room

This room is the gateway to the world of Special Collections. It will be a spacious and quiet haven for users, many of whom have traveled long distances to access collections. Patrons will be first greeted at a reception and reference area where they will receive assistance from librarians well versed in the collections. The large, studious room beyond the reference station will offer a comfortable yet modern space where patrons can immerse themselves in the materials and also access computer workstations and multimedia equipment. Glass walls to the west will provide natural light and views to the valley beyond. Of course, this room will be surrounded by some of the most exciting and treasured collections that this region has to offer.

By improving environmental controls and security systems, we will heighten the level of safety and preservation of the collection. We will also improve network infrastructure.
