SUMMARY: July 2008
Construction is concluding on Levels 1 and 2 and new spaces can be seen from every approach. The contractor will spend the months of July and August finishing landscaping and reshaping the pay parking lot west of the library. In addition, final touches, painting, and patch work will round out the months as building inspectors, architects and university officials commission and prepare the finished East half for the August 25 re-opening.
The library will spend September and October installing the new furnishings and working with vendors to complete the Audio Visual installations in the 8 new classrooms.
September through December 2008 will be spent moving collections and library staff back into the renovated building.
The last piece of the construction will begin in January 2009 and last approximately six months. The final phase will focus on the construction of a new Cafe, renovation of the Gould Auditorium, and will provide improved sites for the Technology Assisted Curriculum Center, Reserve Desk and the University Writing Center.
