Most library resources are available to current University students, faculty and staff from home or other remote locations. You will need a uNID (University Network ID) to verify your access. --Come to the Multimedia Center, Lvl 1, Marriott Library with your U ID card. To connect to library resources from home: 1) Use the Campus Portal. Login with your uNID to http://my.utah.edu and with a single signon, find links to your classes (including WebCT), course reserves, research tools, and many library resources. 2) Go directly to the Library Article Databases and Course Reserves pages; you'll be prompted for your uNID for access. 3) Use the Web-VPN. Use your own Internet Service Provider, login with your uNID and you can go to any campus pages, including pages at the libraries and get easy access to library resources. Works only for web pages. See Information for Health Sciences users. 4) Download and install VPN software on your machine. Provides more complete access to library and UU resources. This is the only option to connect to Citrix databases from off campus. More info and Additional info for Health Sciences users. 5) Dial-up to the UU modem pool. Note: A connection limit of 3 hours total connect-time over the last 7 days of usage.See the Modem Quick Help Guide.
6) Set up your Web browser to use the University Proxy Server. You must remember to disconnect when you are finished; continuing to use the proxy server for regular web browsing could seriously degrade your download and response times.
