PRIORITY GIVING FUNDS
Students First Fund
Gifts support student-focused initiatives at the J. Willard Marriott Library, including internships and assistantships; fellowships and doctoral positions; scholarships and awards; lectures, workshops, exhibits, and intensives; high-level technology applications and support; and specialized collections.
Book Arts Program
Gifts support the Book Arts Program at the J. Willard Marriott Library, which offers semester-length classes, weekend workshops, and K-12 outreach.
Collection Development
Gifts support the purchase of research materials, including books and electronic resources representing every academic discipline at the University of Utah.
Digital Collections
Gifts support the development of new digital collections at the J. Willard Marriott Library, and the maintenance of over 100 unique existing collections, which are freely accessible on the Internet.
Friends Research Fellowship
Gifts support the annual Friends of the Library Research Fellowship to promote scholarly research utilizing the outstanding resources of the Special Collections Department at the J. Willard Marriott Library.
Innovation Fund
Gifts support special initiatives at the J. Willard Marriott Library that encourage and promote the exploration of new library technologies, services, programs, and facilities.
Ski Archives
Gifts support the Utah Ski Archives at the J. Willard Marriott Library, a collection created in 1989 to preserve a comprehensive history of skiing in Utah and the Intermountain region.
Special Collections
Gifts support the Special Collections Department at the J. Willard Marriott Library, which collects, preserves, and makes available materials books, periodicals, documents, photographs, films, and original materials documenting the history of Utah, the Mormons, and the West, with the addition of the Middle East and the University of Utah.
University of Utah Press
Gifts support the University of Utah Press, an agency of the J. Willard Marriott Library that publishes and disseminates scholarly books in selected fields, as well as other printed and recorded materials of significance to Utah, the region, the country, and the world.
Utah Digital Newspapers
Gifts support the Utah Digital Newspapers program at the J. Willard Marriott Library, which encourages and supports “citizen historians” by digitizing historical Utah newspapers and making them freely accessible and keyword searchable on the Internet.
