Joseph M. Dixon

Joseph Murdock Dixon was born in 1932 in Salt Lake City. He now lives in Ogden, Utah. Dixon is a printmaker who creates woodcut images of visionary and social themes with expressionist force.

He studied history at Stanford where he recieved his B.A., M.A., and his Ph.D. He received lessons from Harry Taylor in 1988, and later from Moishe Smith, Sid Chasetz of Ohio State, and Carol Summer of Santa Cruz. He also studied with Susan Makov at Weber State.
