Marriott Library Serials Suggestion Request

Journal prices increase much more rapidly than the library budget, so the library must each year cancel existing subscriptions in order to cover price increases and for any new titles. Journals charge higher prices for libraries than they do for individuals. Online access is often more expensive than paper. We try to balance requests for new material with the desire of other patrons that existing subscriptions be continued.


We do start new subscriptions each year and are anxious that our collection change to reflect the University's current research and curriculum. Requests are most likely to be honored if they are reasonably priced, likely to well used, and are not already available at another Utah library.
