Engineering Village/Compendex (1970 - present ) This resource is available to University of Utah users only.help guide
Best overall source for mining engineering; covers the professional literature in all major engineering disciplines. Abstracts come from 2,600 engineering journals, conferences and reports, and the 1990s segment of the database includes citations from an additional 2,500 sources. Some full text, Marriott owns many, but not all, sources cited.
Use the printed equivalent, Engineering Index, TA 1 E62, shelved in Science Reference, Level 4 Marriott, for material published between 1896 and 1970.

Metadex (1966 - present) This resource is available to University of Utah users only.help guide
Indexes the world's literature on metals and alloys: their properties, development, manufacturing and applications. Citations from thousands of journals, conferences,
technical reports, patents and dissertations. UU owns some of the material indexed. The"locate a document" button on citations links directly to some cooperating publishers' articles or, at the least, to UNIS and our call number record. UU owns some of the journals indexed. Printed equivalent is Metals Abstracts, TN1.M5153.
Sister databases can be searched separately, or concurrently with Metadex. Click on "Change subject area" in upper right of main screen and choose "Materials

Georef (1785 - present) This resource is available to University of Utah users only.
An exhaustive index of journal articles, conference papers, maps, books, and federal and state government publications in the geosciences. Covers North America from 1785 and the rest of world since 1933. Recent citations include abstracts; records for earlier citations contain a generous number of descriptors. The "locate a document" button on citation links to some cooperating publishers' articles or, at the least, to UNIS and our call number record. UU owns some of the material listed.
