RESEARCH DATABASES

MathSciNet WWW (1940-present)
The primary index for scholarly mathematics research. This is an electronic version of Mathematical Reviews published by the American Mathematical Society. Indexes over 1400 journals in addition to dissertations, book chapters, and technical reports. Includes publications in more than 30 languages. Citations and abstracts only; (no full-text}

Web of Knowledge/Web of Science (1997-present) is a Web based version of Science Citation Index which allows you to search for papers by cited author. It covers international science and technology journals in over 100 disciplines. If you want to use the Science Citation Index backfile, use Science Citation Index (1980- 2002)

Math Archive at Los Alamos (1991-present)
Started in August 1991, arXiv.org (formerly xxx.lanl.gov) is a fully automated electronic archive and distribution server for research papers. Covered areas include physics and related disciplines, mathematics, nonlinear sciences, computational linguistics, and neuroscience. You may prefer the UC Davis front end for the xxx mathematics archive.

Mathematics Preprint Server System (MPRESS) (1997- present)
MPRESS improves access to the full texts of preprints in mathematics by means of MetaData and provides comprehensive and easily searchable information on the preprints available. MPRESS, started under the auspices of the European Mathematical Society, is an index of mathematical preprints and not a full text archive.

Digital Dissertations
ProQuest Digital Dissertations provides full text access to viritally all North American Universities Dissertations published from 1997 and forward

Google Scholar is a database of scholarly articles on the Internet.

JOURNALS

  • In the Marriott Library catalog, do a Journal/Newspaper Title Exact search
  • Math Journals may be held in the Marriott Library, in the Mathematics Library (121 JWB) or they may be available as electronic journals

ELECTRONIC JOURNALS
The E-Jounrals list is not a complete list of Marriott Library holdings. In order to see complete library holdings (both paper and electronic), use the Library Catalog:

  1. In the Marriott Library catalog, do a Journal/Newspaper Title Exact search
  2. The tag [electronic resource] indicates that the Marriott Library offers electronic access to full-text articles.
  3. Electronic Location links shown in the catalog record take you to the full-text articles (note, you must have a UNID and password to view some articles)

AMS Journals are available full-text online through a Marriott Library subscription

JSTOR Arts & Sciences Collection offers electronic access to full-text backfiles of a selection of core mathematics journals

Project Euclid from Cornell University has 44 full-text mathematics journals.
