America: History and Life
Historical coverage of the United States and Canada from prehistory to the present; see Historical Abstracts for world history. Covers over 2000 journals plus book reviews and dissertations. Updated tri-annually. A number of the citations in America: History and Life are crosslinked to full text articles in JSTOR.

Historical Abstracts
Historical coverage of the world from 1450 to the present (excluding the United States and Canada; see America: History and Life for that).

JSTOR
Provides image and full-text online access to back issues of selected scholarly journals. A Help Sheet for JSTOR databases in history is available.

PAIS International
PAIS (Public Affairs Information Service, Inc.) is a bibliographic index to the literature of public policy, social policy, and the social sciences in general. Journal articles, books, government documents, statistical compilations, committee reports, directories, serials, reports of public, intergovernmental, and private organizations, and most other forms of printed literature from all over the world are indexed.

Academic Search Elite
This multi-disciplinary database offers full text for more than 1,850 scholarly journals, including nearly 1,300 peer-reviewed titles. Covering virtually every area of academic study, Academic Search Elite offers full text information dating as far back as 1985. This database is updated on a daily basis via EBSCOhost.

Biography and Genealogy Master Index

Best place to begin a search for information about people. It indexes current, readily available reference sources, as well as the most important retrospective works that cover individuals, both living and deceased, from every field of activity and from all areas of the world.

Chicano Database
Identifies all types of material on Mexican-American topics and about Chicanos. Updated quarterly, the Chicano Database covers at least 1967 to the present. Records added since 1992 have expanded its scope to include the broader Latino experience, including Puerto Ricans, Cuban Americans, and Central American immigrants.

Digital Dissertations aka Dissertation Abstracts
IMPORTANT NOTE: ProQuest Digital Dissertations provides full text access to University of Utah, Utah State University and Brigham Young University Dissertations published from 1997 and forward, and citations only to dissertations before that date. Because of the size of the files, dissertations cannot be downloaded to floppy disks. In order to access them patrons must have an e-mail account and a hardrive to download the file to. The database also provides access to the first 24 pages of other school dissertations that have been published since 1997.

Early Encounters in North America: Peoples, Cultures and the Environment
Documents the relationships among peoples in North America from 1534 to 1850. The collection focuses on personal accounts and provides unique perspectives from all of the protagonists, including traders, slaves missionaries, explorers, soldiers, native peoples, and officials, both men and women.

GenderWatch
Collection of international journals, magazines, newsletters, regional publications, special reports and conference proceedings devoted to women's and gender issues. Full text coverage.

Gutenberg-e
Digital versions of Gutenberg-e prize winning books in history, these e-books offer extensive documentation, hyperlinks to supplementary literature, images, music, video, and links to related web sites. A joint project of the American Historical Association and Columbia University Press.

History of Science, Technology, and Medicine
This database covers journal articles, conference proceedings, books, book reviews, and dissertations in the history of science, technology, and medicine and allied historical fields.

A complete guide to the diverse literature of the left, with an emphasis on political, economic, social and culturally engaged scholarship inside and outside academia

Military Library FullTEXT
Designed to offer current news pertaining to all branches of the military, this database offers a thorough collection of military titles, trade publications and newsweeklies. Military Library FullTEXT provides cover-to-cover full text for more than 300 periodicals. The database also includes full text for 245 pamphlets and offers indexing and abstracts for over 350 magazines.

North American Women's Letters and Diaries
Includes the immediate experiences of 107 women, as revealed in more than 9,000 pages of diaries and letters. When complete, the collection will include more than 150,000 pages of primary materials spanning more than 300 years. A Help Guide is available in PDF format.

Periodicals Contents Index (PCI)
PCI Web is an electronic index to the contents of thousands of periodicals in the humanities and social sciences, from their first issues to 1995. Journals in English, French, German Italian, Spanish, and other Western Languages are included.

TOPICsearch
This current events database allows researchers to explore social, political & economic issues, scientific discoveries and other popular topics discussed in today’s classrooms. TOPICsearch contains full text for over 64,000 articles from more than 3,000 diverse sources, including nearly 1,600 full text periodicals

Utah Collections
The Utah Collections Multimedia Encyclopedia includes this web site whose contributors include many institutions, organizations and agencies throughout Utah with collections waiting to be included in the multimedia encyclopedia as digital videos, audio clips, photographs, pictures, maps, charts and written information. Utah Collections serves as a storehouse of multimedia items which educators,professors and students can freely use in lesson plans, reports and projects without fear of copyright infringement. Marriott Library's Utah Postcard Collection is among the items indexed.
