Academic Search Premier EBSCOhost (1965 to present)This resource is available to University of Utah users only.Help
A scholarly interdisciplinary resource that offers the full-text of over 3,500 academic journals. Excellent starting point.

Business Source Premier EBSCOhost (1922 to present)This resource is available to University of Utah users only.
Provides coverage of sport management, marketing, and economics of sport.

CINAHL (Cumulative Index to Nursing & Allied Health Literature) EBSCOhost (1982 to present)This resource is available to University of Utah users only.
The CINAHL database provides the full text from 56 journals, indexes and abstracts over 1,600 current nursing and allied health journals and publications, and contains more than 700,000 records.

Cochrane Library (1988-present)This resource is available to University of Utah users only.
"consists of a regularly updated collection of evidence-based medicine databases, including The Cochrane Database of Systematic Reviews, which provide high quality information to people providing and receiving care and those responsible for research, teaching, funding and administration at all levels."

Dynamed (1995-present)This resource is available to University of Utah users only.
This database provides evidence-based clinical summaries of over 1800 clinical topics for the health professional.

ERIC (EBSCOhost) (1966-present)This resource is available to University of Utah users only.
Covers the discipline of education. Excellent starting point for physical education teachers. A very small percentage of the citations provide full text.

Health and Psychosocial Instruments (HaPI) (1985-present)This resource is available to University of Utah users only.
"...provides ready access to information on measurement instruments (i.e., questionnaires, interview schedules, checklists, index measures, coding schemes/manuals, rating scales, projective techniques, vignettes/scenarios, tests) in the health fields and sychosocial sciences. " The PS (Primary Source) code indicates that the instrument was developed by the author(s) of the cited article. A PS code is also used to indicate that an existing instrument has been revised for the cited article. The SS (Secondary Source) code indicates that the instrument was not developed by the author(s) of the cited article.

Some of the instruments referenced are only available from commercial sources (some are available for purchase from BMDS, the company that creates HaPI; in that case, order information will included in the abstract), but others are published in cited articles. Limiting a search by the PS code (see above) is the most efficient way to search for the the instrument itself.

Health Source: Nursing and Academic Edition (EBSCOhost)This resource is available to University of Utah users only.
Good starting point to finding full text articles in over 550 scholarly journals from many medical disciplines.

Covers all aspects of physical education including major coverage in sports medicine, coaching, and kinesiology. Indexes over 300 journals.

PsycINFO (EBSCOhost) (1887-present)This resource is available to University of Utah users only.
Covers psychology and psychological aspects of related disciplines such as medicine, physiology, psychiatry, nursing, and pharmacology. Includes citations and summaries of journal articles, book chapters, books, and technical reports, as well as citations to dissertations. Indexes approximately 1,500 journals in 25 different languages. PsycINFO contains some (very little, presently) full text.

This scholarly database covers all aspects of medicine including exercise science, sports medicine, physical therapy, physiology, and kinesiology. "PubMed is the National Library of Medicine's [free] search service that provides access to over 16 million citations in MEDLINE and other related databases, with links to participating online journals."

SBRNetThis resource is available to University of Utah users only.
Provides market research and industry news "covering all facets of the industry…sports equipment sales, sports participation, sports broadcasting, sports sponsorship and sports marketing." Information from the "Consolidated Market Research" area comes from the National Sporting Goods Association.

Covers sociology and related disciplines.

SportDiscus Full Text (EBSCOhost) (1830-present) HelpThis resource is available to University of Utah users only.
Covers all aspects of sports, exercise, and fitness. Search for journal articles, books, conference proceedings, test / testing information, and dissertations. Includes the full -text of 17 Human Kinetics journals. Most of the material is scholarly. Print, email, or write out the author, source (book title including publisher or journal title including volume and page numbers). Check library catalog to see if the item is available.

Consolidated searching of Science Citation Index, Social Science Citation Index, and Arts & Humanities Citation Index, multidisciplinary databases listing articles in 8500 major scholarly journals. Especially useful for finding articles which have cited a known article or given author in their bibliography. Search by topic, author, journal title, author's institution, cited author, cited work, cited year. Before 1997, use the electronic version of the Science Citation Index or the print editions (1955-present) which are available at the Marriott Library.

Digital Dissertations This resource is available to University of Utah users only.
This database is the most authoritative source for information about doctoral dissertations and master's theses from over 1,000 graduate schools and universities. Since 1997, citation, abstract, 24 page previews, and full-text are available. The complete dissertation is only available if you request a "free download" and follow the directions. Before 1997, citation, abstract, and ordering information is available. If you order a dissertation, expect to pay thirty to sixty dollars for a dissertation. Due to library loan policies of the author's degree granting institution, dissertations may not be available via Interlibrary Loan (ILL).

STAT!Ref Medical Reference LibraryThis resource is available to University of Utah users only.
An electronic medical library that enables users to cross-search more than 30 medical resources such as Current Medical Diagnosis & Treatment, Mosby's GenRX, and the Griffith 5 Minute Clinical Consult, among others.
