MLA Intl. Bibliography This resource is available to University of Utah users only. Consists of bibliographic records pertaining to literature, language, linguistics, and folklore, and includes coverage from 1963 to the present. It provides access to scholarly research in over 3,000 journals and series. It also covers relevant monographs, working papers, proceedings, bibliographies, and other formats. Also includes the MLA Directory of Periodicals.

Project Muse (full text)This resource is available to University of Utah users only.
Managed by Johns Hopkins University this database offers full text coverage of more than 150 journals published by university presses, many of them relevant to film. Coverage dates back to 1993.

Ebsco Host (full text)This resource is available to University of Utah users only. An easy to use source for full text materials. However, because it is extremely interdisciplinary its coverage of literary topics is limited. It is best used in relation to widely researched areas.

Philosophers Index This resource is available to University of Utah users only. For those aspects of literary theory that expand into questions also relating to the philosophy of language this index, dating back to 1940, is an excellent source of journal articles as well as book articles.

JSTOR This resource is available to University of Utah users only. Provides image and full-text online access to back issues of selected scholarly journals.The Language & Literature Collection is unique in both scope and content. The journals span the literary cultures of many different countries, and contain articles in several languages, including Arabic, Italian, and Russian. Additionally, this Collection offers insight into the interests of literary scholars in the first half of the twentieth century as well as core journals in the diverse fields of literary criticism that have emerged in the last 30 years, such as Women's Literature.

PCI This resource is available to University of Utah users only. Periodicals Contents Index (PCI) is an electronic index to millions of articles published in 4,184 periodicals in the humanities and social sciences. PCI is unique in combining a broad subject base with deep chronological coverage going back over 200 years.

ArticlesFirst This resource is available to University of Utah users only. This periodical index covers more than 12,500 journals in disciplines throughout the curriculum. It contains information dating back to 1990 and is updated every day.

Literature Research Center This resource is available to University of Utah users only.
Meant primarily for beginners this amalgamation of resources provides short biographies, bibliographies and some critical analysis of the works of 20,000 authors from various periods and genres of literature.

Dissertation Abstracts This resource is available to University of Utah users only.
The definitive source for finding references to dissertations. It dates back to 1861 and allows users to access the full text of dissertations written at the University of Utah, Utah State University and Brigham Young University after 1997.

Early English Books Online This resource is available to University of Utah users only.
This database contains the texts of approximately 125,000 books published between 1450 and 1700. The subjects covered are literature, philosophy, religion, science, history, military affairs etc. It's updated daily since it is a work in progress.

Middle English Compendium This resource is available to University of Utah users only.
This is the electronic version of the Middle English Dictionary in addition to a hyperbibliography of the works cited in the Dictionary as well as the full text of a growing list of these works. The period covered is 1100 to 1500.

Women Writers Online This resource is available to University of Utah users only.
A database containing the full text of over 200 pre-Victorian (published before 1830) works by women. These include fiction, poetry, drama and works of non-fiction as well.

Victorian Women Writer's Online This resource is available to University of Utah users only.
Here you'll find SGML encoded transcriptions of texts by women writing in the late Victorian period. These include poetry, drama, anthologies etc.

Columbia Granger’s World of Poetry Online This resource is available to University of Utah users only.
A solid resource for identifying poetry. It contains the full text of 8500 poems as well as citations for 90,000 poems and the anthologies where they can be found.

Oxford English Dictionary This resource is available to University of Utah users only.
The OED is the final arbiter on all matters relating to definition. Unlike many other dictionaries it illustrates meanings with quotations from classical works of the period and traces historical changes in definitions and usage.

Nineteenth Century Short Title Catalogue: Series I and II – 1801 - 1870 This resource is available to University of Utah users only.
Aims at a complete listing of British books published between 1801 and 1870. These are taken to include all books published in Britain , its colonies and the US , all books published in English and all translations from English.

A scholarly site with links to information of almost any kind relating to the Victorian period. It is multi-disciplinary.

Operated by the University of Pennsylvania this site provides information on numerous female writers. In addition to biographical and bibliographical information there are also links to full text books. Searchable by nationality, historical period and author names.

Maintained by students this is an easy to use site containing 3500 (and expanding) full text poems by many of the major poets in English.

Contemporary Postcolonial and Postimperial Literature in English http://www.postcolonialweb.org
