Search by topic, author, journal title, author's institution, cited
author, cited work, and cited year. This index is especially useful for
searching interdisciplinary fields -- like urban planning -- and for finding
articles which have cited a known article or author. Cited reference searching
allows you to track quickly moving fields, to determine if a theory or
technique has been confirmed or modified, and gauge the influence of an
article. Once you find an article of interest you can look at its bibliography
(“Cited References”) and also “Related Records” of
articles which share common intellectual ancestors.
Covers no discipline in depth but covers 8500 major journals in all fields.

A good choice for urban planning, this is the most comprehensive index
of journals of interest to geographers. It also covers major journals
in geology, ecology, and international development. UU owns some of the
